Lucy Clifford letters and postal cards to Charles Wilson, 1921-1928.

Lucy Clifford writes to Charles Wilson, an aspiring writer, encouraging him and telling him of her own struggles to become an established writer. She writes on 6 January 1926 that Hodder & Stoughton will publish new editions of her books Aunt Anne, A wild party, and A flash of success. On 16 July 1926 she comments on the death of her husband and how that affected her writing. On 5 January 1927 she advises him about the difficulty in publishing poetry, sharing the same agent with Rudyard Kipling, and suggests he get his writing known locally. On 18 April 1927 she discusses politics and suffrage. Also, includes a hand-annotated printed notice of a matinee performance of her comedic play, Sue's lover.
